This is a working tool, not an article. Its value is in taking it out to your own ground.

Most soil problems trace back to a few physical causes: compaction, poor drainage, low organic matter, or a pH that locks nutrients away. Each one shows itself in a way you can see and feel.

Inside: simple no-equipment tests to read your soil, a decision table that turns each symptom into the likely cause and the fix, the main fixes explained so you understand why they work, and a log to track your soil improving over the seasons.

Built on soil science by a plant biologist with field experience.

Plant Biologist & Environmental Scientist

Hi,

I'm Serge, a plant biologist and environmental scientist. I hold a BSc in Plant Biology and an MSc in Environmental Biology and Biogeochemistry. My research has focused on how climate warming and ozone stress affect silver birch growth and soil carbon cycling under open-field conditions.

I've worked with gas analyzers, soil respiration chambers, and open-air exposure systems measuring real ecosystem processes. I've completed specialized postgraduate training in ecotoxicology, air pollution and environmental exposure, indoor microbiology, and atmosphere-biosphere gas exchange. My training also covers plant biochemistry, botany, and the compounds plants produce, which is the understanding I bring to herbs and how they are used.

At GreenBioLife, I apply that scientific foundation to explain how plants, herbs, and ecosystems really work. No hype, no vague generalizations. Just analysis grounded in real biology and chemistry.
