What’s Wrong With My Plant? A Plant Scientist’s Diagnosis Guide

$7.00

Stop guessing why your plant is struggling. Match the symptom to the real cause, and the fix that actually works, from a plant biologist. Covers yellow leaves, brown tips, wilting, pests, and leggy growth. Instant PDF download.

Description

This article was written by Serge, MSc. Plant Biologist and Environmental Scientist with a BSc in Plant Biology and an MSc in Environmental Biology and Biogeochemistry. My background covers plant biochemistry, botany, and field research in forest and soil ecosystems. I write from real experience, not just literature.

Most plant advice tells you what to do.

It rarely tells you why your plant looks the way it does, and that’s the part that decides whether you save it or finish it off. A yellow leaf can mean five different things, and some of the fixes are opposites, water a plant that’s already overwatered and you kill it faster, with the best intentions.

I’m Serge, a plant biologist. I built this guide the way I’d actually diagnose a plant. You start from the symptom you can see, answer a question or two about where it shows and what the soil is doing, and land on the likely cause, the fix, and a quick way to confirm you’ve got it right before you act.

What’s inside:

Yellow leaves, telling overwatering, underwatering and nutrient issues apart.

Brown tips and edges, humidity, salt build-up, or heat.

Wilting and drooping, the symptom most people treat backwards, and how to spot thirst versus root rot.

Spots, coatings and pests, mildew, sap-suckers, mites and more, told apart at a glance.

Weak, leggy growth, why it’s almost always light, and why feeding makes it worse.

Each symptom comes with a simple decision guide, clear cause-and-fix cards, a photo of the symptom, and a way to confirm the cause before you act.

Who it’s for:
Anyone with a plant that’s struggling and no idea why, from first-time plant owners to gardeners tired of generic “just water it” advice.

Format:
Instant digital download (PDF). Read it on any device or print it and keep it handy. For personal use.

A quick note:
This guide gives general, science-based guidance for common plant problems. It’s a fast starting point, not a lab diagnosis of your specific plant.

Plant Biologist & Environmental Scientist

Hi,

I'm Serge, a plant biologist and environmental scientist. I hold a BSc in Plant Biology and an MSc in Environmental Biology and Biogeochemistry. My research has focused on how climate warming and ozone stress affect silver birch growth and soil carbon cycling under open-field conditions.

I've worked with gas analyzers, soil respiration chambers, and open-air exposure systems measuring real ecosystem processes. I've completed specialized postgraduate training in ecotoxicology, air pollution and environmental exposure, indoor microbiology, and atmosphere-biosphere gas exchange. My training also covers plant biochemistry, botany, and the compounds plants produce, which is the understanding I bring to herbs and how they are used.

At GreenBioLife, I apply that scientific foundation to explain how plants, herbs, and ecosystems really work. No hype, no vague generalizations. Just analysis grounded in real biology and chemistry.
