1- HomeGrown Herbalist – Online School of Botanical Medicine
As a botanist, biochemist, and environmental biologist, I’m very selective about the herbal education programs I choose to feature. After reviewing the content, teaching approach, and overall depth, the HomeGrown Herbalist School stood out immediately. It’s practical, clinically grounded, and built on real experience, not theory.
This program is taught by Dr. Patrick Jones, a veterinarian, clinical herbalist, and naturopath with decades of hands-on herbal practice. His lessons come straight from real cases, everything from wound care and infections to botanical first aid and everyday wellness, giving students a rare opportunity to learn herbalism exactly as it’s used in real life.
The curriculum covers everything from anatomy and physiology to plant identification, medicine-making, disease processes, and even veterinary herbal applications. It’s self-paced, supported by quizzes, videos, optional workshops, plant walks, and lifetime access to all materials.
I selected this course because it gives learners a solid, practical foundation and prepares them to confidently grow, understand, and work with medicinal plants in a meaningful way.
